Comics are expected to have at least 3 minutes of material. Remember you have to earn your stage time. Seasoned veterans will be given time based on their ability. Beginners are expected to abide by the comic axiom that it's easier to make funny dirty; than it is to make dirty funny. For most comics 6 minutes will be the length of your performance.
Comics are expected to respect the audience. They are not here to be criticized for your inability to entertain.
Clubs donate their time to help local comics learn the craft. Respect their sacrifice by bringing as many friends and co-workers as possible.
The success of the open stage depends on the co-operation and work of all involved. If everyone does their part, all will be assured of developing an artist friendly community. |
